1. Every Brand Formulates Feed Differently
Even when two feeds look similar on the bag, the ingredients, energy levels, and nutritional balance can vary massively between brands. A feed advisor understands those differences and can explain:
- Which feeds suit your horse’s workload
- How to avoid over‑ or under‑supplementing
- What the feed strengths
- How to transition safely between products
Instead of guessing, you get clear guidance tailored to your horse
2. They Help You Avoid Common Feeding Mistakes
It’s easy to misjudge quantities or combine products that don’t work well together. Advisors can help you:
- Check whether your horse is getting the correct calories and nutrients
- Balance forage and hard feed
- Adjust rations for weight gain, weight loss, or behavioural changes
- Understand when a supplement is actually needed
A quick conversation can save you money and improve your horse’s wellbeing.
3. Free Weigh Clinics Give You Real Data
Many feed companies offer free weighbridge clinics, and they’re one of the most useful tools you can access. At a weigh clinic, you can:
- Get an accurate weight for your horse
- Track changes over time
- Receive a personalised feeding plan
- Receive free body scoring
It’s a simple, stress‑free way to make sure your horse is on the right track.
4. Better Nutrition Means Better Performance and Health
Whether your horse is a happy hacker, a competition horse, a good doer, or a veteran, the right feed makes a noticeable difference. Speaking to an advisor helps you be confident in the feed you choose
Good nutrition is the foundation of everything else.
